This is my drawing for Illustration Friday. I actually did not do this specifically for IF, like the other IF posts here on my blog, but I thought it really applied to the piece here.
It is from a Graphic Novel that I am illustrating, written by Bob Hitching, which will be used to improve literacy for Roma in Central Europe.

What better time and place to do a little collaborative coloring with a small friend than a weekend wedding? Beach ball man with Ipod, orange wedding cake, million bead braid girl all made their appearances on the program that day.

| A paper flower petal, handed to us by a certain ring bearer, along with a crayon. We followed his solemn instructions to draw on it. |

For Illustration Friday, The word was “Unfold.”
Inspired by a jar of origami paper boxes I keep on my shelf.

For Illustration Friday, The word was “Cracked.”
“She felt the bird tense its grip on her shoulder as they made their way along the fissure…”
( experimenting with some new techniques – less CS and more by hand )

This is my entry for Illustration Friday.
The word for this week was “Parade.” What better kind of parade than happy circus animals? :D
